All About Hot Tub Filters

Proper care of hot tub filters will keep your hot tub in tip top shape and working flawlessly for years to come. Hot tub filters, if properly cleaned and changed, will work hard to filter out every kind of debris from bugs, to hair, to leaves, to bacteria. A properly working hot tub filter will keep the water in your hot tub looking sparkly and clean. You’ll be ready to step into the shining water after a hard day at the office or just relax after a particularly stressful day.

Hot tub filters are easy to keep clean by removing them, according to the directions in the manual, and rinsing them down with a garden hose held at a 45-degree angle. It’s important to change the filter often and this depends on how often you use it. If you notice a lot of unwanted particles building up in your hot tub filter, you know it’s time for a cleaning! Try not to step into your hot tub when you’re dirty, as sweat and various skin products are not good for it. The filter will have to work twice as hard and it can end up putting a strain on the pump.

Remember also to keep the proper chemicals in your hot tub to make sure it stays in optimal working order. When you’re using your hot tub regularly be sure to check the sanitizer levels and give the water a dose of a sanitizing chemical when needed. Check the pH level which should read between 7.4 and 7.6. You many also have to give the water a shock treatment every week or two during regular use.

And if you’re not keeping up with the hot tub filters, as mentioned earlier, the water in the hot tub will begin to look dirty and other parts of the tub will fail to work properly. Keep that filtration system clean, clear and in good working order so you can spend time relaxing and enjoying the benefits of your hot tub.
